Backing - Printing may be carried out on materials of different width. Thus, in case of production of package made of multilayer materials such as micro-corrugated cardboard, printing is applied at certain layer, which then is glued (masked) to the main layer (opened corrugation or layer of thick cardboard). Backing is also used in order to make exclusive package at the account of usage of special types of paper (flock-paper, etc.) or molding materials as upper layer.
sp
Cardboard - Material that is from 0.3mm to 5 mm in width that is manufactured as the paper made of pulp. Raw material for cardboard manufacture is, in general, wood pulp, semi-chemical pulp, unbleached pulp, waste paper. There also used synthetic and mineral fibers.
sp
Coloring test - is the test printing (before the main run) in printing house in order to determine optimal color correlation.
sp
Cutting - One of the operations of stamping process – is through cut of processed material with stamp cutting ruler along uninterrupted line.
sp
Dispenser - is meant for distribution of printed advertising products (flyers, postcards). It is installed at the counter.
sp
Entrance group - external flags, stickers, advertising posters. Floor graphics: full-color graphics, wiping-proof, film applications. Overhead constructions: mobiles, flag garlands, boxes mock-ups, inflatable constructions. Floor constructions: corporate stands, blind panels, figures mock-ups, promotion stands. Sales area: posters, stickers, shelf talkers, wobblers, promotion boxes, dispensers. Cash area: video screens, plate for coins, boxes for checks.
sp
Hot stamping - is made with the help of hot stamping press through image stamping. This technology is generally used at the stage of printing production final molding. The method is able not only to give the significant volume to already printed image, but it may be used independently. The image may be both salient and concave. With the help of this technology it is possible to make individual production. It is used for production of business cards, letter-heads, labels, invitation cards and other printing production.
sp
Jumbo - Jumbo – is increased in size package or production itself
sp
Lacquering - Package surface lacquering may be made depending on chosen by the custom type of lacquer either in the process of printing (waterborne or offset lacquer), or at the separate technological stage (in case of ultraviolet lacquer). The lacquer type is chosen by the customer depending on technological requirements to the package (some kinds of lacquer are not recommended for usage with the package of foodstuff) and cost requirements to the package.
sp
LAMA - exclusive type of POS-materials. It constitutes rather simple cardboard construction with the size from 40 cm to 2.1 meters, which is handed to the customer in the kind of small envelope. It is possible to construct different constructions with the help of LAMA: arches, kiosks, stoppers, as well as to fasten to them pockets for disks, postcards, and questionnaires, to place product samples on it.
sp
Lamination - is the coverage (sealing) of paper and cardboard production with the special mylar film under the temperature. It is generally used for protection of business cards, passes, certificates. Lamination may be one-sided, two-sided, glossy and matt.
sp
Micro-corrugated cardboard - is multilayer material that consists of the open corrugation layer and upper layer that represents ordinary cardboard of any type. Printing is made at the upper layer that is glued (masked) to the open corrugation with the help of special masking machines.
sp
Mobiles - means printing production of unusual form that is fastened to ceiling with the special hooks with springs. Air fluctuation makes mobiles turn and move.
sp
Offset lacquer - Cardboard, processed with this lacquer, has matt surface. Protective properties of this lacquer are low. Coverage with offset lacquer is carried out in the process of printing. That is why the cost of such processing is almost equal to the cost of processing of cardboard with waterborne lacquer.
sp
Offset printing - is the method of printing when ink from printing form is transferred under the pressure to intermediate elastic surface of rubber sheet and then to the paper or other printing material. Generally the term “offset printing” combines the printing processes from the forms of flat printing that are based on selective wetting of elements with ink and unprinted – with water solution that is reached due to different molecular surface properties of separate form areas. In the process of printing the form is alternately wetted with water solution and is coated with ink, then engaged with the rubber sheet surface, and the latter – in contact with paper. Thus there takes place double reproduction of image and the paper does not contact with printing form that gives the possibility to significantly reduce pressure, necessary during printing, and thus wearing of form, increase the speed of printing and increase the quality of image.
sp
Original mock-ups - Original image that is completely coincides with relative test sample.
sp
POS-materials - means printing products that are used for points for sale decoration. They include show-cards, wobblers, shelf talkers and non-standard production. All the POS-materials may be relatively divided into several groups according to their location at point of sale: entrance group, floor graphics, overhead constructions, floor constructions, sales area, cash area.
sp
Posters - are the most widespread kind of wide-screen printing. It consists of image gluing on the solid surface and its installation in frame. Posters may be in the kind of broadsheets, glued on the solid surface, that are generally installed at the top of shelves with the goods or on the floor.
sp
Preprint processes - All the stages of printing process, connected with publication preparing for print (composition, color separation, text and images processing, arrangement and ribs putting on printing sheet) up to the production of printing form inclusively.
sp
Printing form - The surface of plate, slab or cylinder that is made of metal, plastic, paper, wood, lithographic limestone, etc., and this surface is covered according to the special technology. Printing form is made for creation and reproduction of image in the kind of separate areas that take printing form (printed elements) and do not take printing form (unprinted elements). Printed elements not only take the ink but also transfer it to the material or transference link, for example, offset cylinder, tampon.
sp
Promotion-box - is original symbiosis of tray and shelf talker that allows to separate one type production from the competent goods.
sp
Shelf talkers - are used for decoration of shelves at points of sale. They are fastened to shelves and separates production of one manufacturer from another one, or one brand from competent production.
sp
show cards - The term “show cards” includes the great amount of printing products that attract the buyers’ attention. To the show cards one can attribute mobiles, jumbos, flag garlands. These products are differed in format, methods of manufacture and fastening. The format of show cards may vary from A4 to A1. They may be made from cardboard, corrugated cardboard, plastics. In order to fasten show cards there are used the devices for hanging up, bars, double-sided adhesive tape, cardboard legs. Stamping, lamination and ultraviolet lacquering give the show card very attractive and unique look.
sp
Stamping - It is the process of image creation on paper, cardboard or polymeric material through stamp press while heating. Sometimes there may be used in addition the foil and ink. It is usually used for lids, post cards.
sp
Stamping - It is the process of sheet and rolled materials processing with the aim to give the product figure form. It is carried out with the help of flat stamping forms with scoring counter- matrixes. Materials for processing are various kinds of paper, solid and corrugated cardboard, plastic materials. Stamping may include the processes of cutting, perforation, scratching, scoring and stamping, as well as their different combinations. Stander – is a portable advertising board of small size.
sp
Stickers - are the stickers that are manufactured from self-stick paper. They are used for attraction of attention to the goods, they help to lay the goods out in the post profitable way, to inform about its properties, as well as about relative actions.
sp
Ultraviolet lacquer - The cardboard surface, processed with ultraviolet lacquer, has high gloss and high level of protection from wiping and scratches. The coverage with ultraviolet lacquer is very expensive because it is made on special machine for lacquering, equipped with MW-ovens for drying of this kind of lacquer.
sp
Water-dispersion lacquer - The surface, covered with this type of lacquer, has high gloss. Firmness of this lacquer is rather lower than of ultraviolet lacquer, but the cost of covering with such lacquer is more times cheaper as waterborne lacquer covering is carried out immediately at the time of printing. During this process there is used the lacquering section of printing machine.
sp
Wobbler - looks like bright colorful sheet of cardboard, fastened to vertical interface with the help of flexible plastic leg. It attracts buyers with its constant movement.
